The third fight between the two heavyweight fighters was an exciting one, with Wilder winning by unanimous decision. Sanchez’s cornerman, Glenn Rushton, revealed that his boxer had been fighting with a broken jaw for weeks.
The who won tyson fury vs wilder 3 is a question that has been asked for a while. Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder fought on Saturday, December 29th and the fight ended in a draw.

Because of his barrage of powerful blows, Robert Helenius caused the referee to contemplate halting the battle many times. Credit… Associated Press/Chase Stevens
Robert Helenius delivered a right hand and left punch late in Round 3 that buckled Adam Kownacki’s knees. Helenius had utilized a series of combos to build a lead on the scoreboards and raise lumps on his opponent’s face, and this barrage was only the latest in a line of them.
Kownacki, who was born in Poland and reared in Brooklyn, retaliated with two of his most powerful punches of the fight, a right and a left below the belt.
Naturally, the shots were not counted. They gave Kownacki a few minutes to recover, as well as a harsh warning from the referee, but they didn’t change the fight’s pace. Kownacki, who was unbeaten until Helenius knocked him out in their first fight in March of 2024, is a high-volume puncher who has reduced his output in the hopes of improving his defense.
It didn’t work for Helenius, a 6-foot-7 Finnish competitor. Helenius unleashed a barrage of jabs, right hands, and body blows in Round 5, forcing referee Celestino Ruiz to contemplate halting the fight.
Another low punch midway through the sixth supplied the pretext. Ruiz put an end to the brawl. Helenius was overjoyed, and Kownacki was relieved.
Helenius, who used to spar with Deontay Wilder, has a record of 31-3 with 19 knockouts.

The second fight between Robert Helenius and Adam Kownacki started similarly to the first, with Helenius bouncing blows off of Kownacki’s bald head. Helenius won an upset knockout in their first bout in March 2024, which was meant to be a stepping stone for Kownacki, who was then a rising contender.
The rematch concluded with Helenius pummeling Kownacki into submission. Kownacki’s head was snapped back and his eyes swelled as Helenius delivered right hands and left punches. Kownacki’s only response was a series of low punches, one of which led referee Celestino Ruiz to halt the lopsided bout and award it to Helenius, a 37-year-old Finnish fighter.

Jared Anderson easily dispatched Vladimir Tereshkin in the second round. The 21-year-old tracked the Russian down to the ropes and stunned him with a clean shot. After witnessing Tereshkin’s expression, the referee quickly halted the bout after Anderson delivered additional punches.
Anderson, a heavyweight from Toledo, Ohio, is 10-0 in his career.

Edgar Berlanga, a 24-year-old Brooklyn power puncher, settled in, withstood a knockdown, and defeated Marcelo Esteban Coceres in a 10-round unanimous decision, utilizing forward movement and powerful blows to create a welt on Coceres’ left eye. Berlanga won the bout 96-93 on all three judges’ scores.
Berlanga began his career with a string of 16 first-round knockouts, a run that drew notice but also drove his managers to seek out harder opponents, ones he couldn’t outpower with sheer power. Coceres circled early, boxed carefully, and in the fifth round, whiplashed Berlanga’s head with a left hook. With a couple of right punches, he rattled Berlanga again in the following round.
Berlanga seized control of the fight in the second half, demonstrating patience and confidence in his ability to win without depending on sheer strength. Late in Round 9, Coceres felled Berlanga with a counter right hand to the temple, highlighting the talent difference between Berlanga, who is still unbeaten, and the 168-pound division’s top fighters.

Deontay Wilder made his name by consistently knocking out his opponents, and he successfully defended his World Boxing Council heavyweight title ten times. He did so in his own special way. Before he enters the ring and begins throwing punches, he usually dresses up in a costume, like many youngsters do on Halloween.
Tyson Fury, a 6-foot-9 Englishman who beat Wilder by technical knockout in February 2024, is finishing a trilogy of bouts with Wilder. Wilder, 35, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., concocted a long list of unfounded excuses for his first career defeat.
One of them, he said, was his legs being weakened by the lavish 40-pound outfit he wore into the ring.
He donned a jewel-encrusted outfit with black skulls that resembled knight’s armor that night. He donned a crown and a mask that lighted up in red around his eyes. The set was said to have cost $40,000 to make.
In the past, he donned similar outfits. He donned a lighter outfit with openings to reveal his chest and white-and-gold shoulder spikes, as well as a mask and crown, in November 2019.
He donned a similar mask and crown before his first bout against Wilder in 2018, although he wore a feathered robe instead of armor.
Even after the fiasco in February, don’t expect him to forego the unusual clothing this time. Wilder’s suit designers informed TMZ that his outfit would be “much lighter” this time around.

Vladimir Hernandez fought back in the late rounds of the first televised preliminary fight to win a split decision against Julian Williams. It’s astonishing not just because Williams seemed to get up early, but also because he had caused Hernandez a terrible cut over the right eye and then earned an even larger edge with a gash over Hernandez’s left eye due to an inadvertent head collision.

This trilogy fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury gives Wilder a chance to redeem his lone professional loss, a devastating defeat.
Fury stalked Wilder throughout the whole of the bout in February 2024, maintaining an aggressive pace and delivering clean punches. Fury, who weighed 273 pounds, successfully utilized his 43-pound weight advantage on the scale to clinch with Wilder, forcing him to bear his own weight. In the third and fifth rounds, he knocked Wilder out. Wilder’s trainer, Mark Breland, had thrown in the towel after the eighth round. The fight was halted by the referee, and Fury was declared the winner by technical knockout.
Wilder now gets a chance to right his wrongs after changing trainers, making a litany of excuses for his defeat, and winning an arbitration lawsuit to compel Fury to fight him.

In the United States, the heavyweight championship fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will be broadcast on Fox Sports and ESPN pay-per-view platforms for $79.99. On Saturday, the pay-per-view card will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern. Yes, it’s uncommon for two major sports networks to broadcast the same event, but that’s one of the peculiarities of boxing.
Wilder competes under the umbrella of Premier Boxing Champions, which broadcasts his bouts on Fox Sports and Showtime. Fury is sponsored by Top Rank, which has a media agreement with ESPN. The fact that competing promoters and media companies collaborated to organize the past two Fury-Wilder fights demonstrates the importance of these bouts in the boxing industry.
A two-hour preliminary card started at 7 p.m. Eastern time, and it is being broadcast on ESPN and Fox Sports 1 in the United States. Early prelims were also broadcast on ESPN’s YouTube channel.
The main event between Wilder and Fury is expected to start after 11 p.m. Eastern time, perhaps closer to midnight. It is greatly influenced by the outcomes of previous bouts.
The following are the fights on the main card and preliminary card (note that bouts may change at any moment with little or no notice):
Main Card
- World Boxing Council World heavyweight championship fight between Tyson Fury (30-0-1) and Deontay Wilder (42-1-1), 12 rounds
- World Boxing Council Continental Americas and World Boxing Organization N.A.B.O. heavyweight championship, Efe Ajagba (15-0) vs. Frank Sanchez (18-0), 10 rounds
- Heavyweight bout between Robert Helenius (30-3) and Adam Kownacki (20-1), 12 rounds
- Heavyweight, Jared Anderson (9-0) vs. Vladimir Tereshkin (22-1), eight rounds
Preliminary Bouts are a series of battles that take place before the main event
- Marcelo Esteban Coceres (30-2-1) vs. Edgar Berlanga (17-0), vacant World Boxing Organization N.A.B.O. super middleweight championship, 10 rounds
- Julian Williams (27-2-1) takes on Vladimir Hernandez (12-4) in a ten-round super welterweight bout.

Fury (30-0-1, 21 knockouts) will never be a bodybuilder, but he worked out before his last fight with Wilder and weighed in at 273 solid, if not sculpted, pounds. Wilder, who weighed a chiseled 231 pounds, claimed that his striking power would compensate for his lack of size.
He was mistaken, and their fight turned into a one-sided thrashing. Wilder (42-1-1, 41 knockouts) has strewn his own weight-training clips over the internet ahead of his next bout. He bench presses increasingly larger weights until he reaches 350 pounds in one clip.
Wilder weighed 238 pounds on Friday, while Fury weighed 277 pounds. Fans should anticipate the competitors to weigh roughly the same on Saturday night, unlike in other categories where intentional weight reduction has been the standard.
Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, claimed the increased muscular mass would help him survive Fury’s gripping and mauling, which helped deplete Wilder’s energies during their previous fight.
“If it comes to clinches, it will help Deontay be a lot more physical,” Scott, who lost to Wilder in 2015, said. “It’ll make him much more vibrant.”
Functional strength, on the other hand, is simply a beneficial consequence, according to the fighter. His true motive for bulking up during training camp?
“Mostly for the sake of appearances,” Wilder said.

On Friday, Tyson Fury weighed 277 pounds. The World Boxing Council established a new category, bridgerweight, with a weight restriction of 224 pounds, since the best heavyweights had grown so big in recent years. Credit… Associated Press/Erik Verduzco/Las Vegas Review-Journal
What is the weight of these heavyweights?
When Sonny Liston successfully defended his heavyweight championship against 19512-pound Floyd Patterson in 1963, he weighed 21512 pounds. Liston, a big heavyweight, weighed 218 pounds when he lost the title to Muhammad Ali, who weighed 206 pounds.
Heavyweights have progressed since then. Anthony Joshua, who was dethroned by Oleksandr Usyk last month, measures 6-foot-6 and weighs 240 pounds. Tyson Fury first won the heavyweight championship in 2015, defeating Wladimir Klitschko, who stood 6-foot-6 and weighed 247 pounds.
The division’s top fighters have become so big that the World Boxing Council established a new weight class, bridgerweight, with a limit of 224 pounds, for boxers who are larger than the 200-pound cruiserweight limit but too tiny to compete with the 6-foot-7 Wilder and 6-foot-9 Fury.
Deontay Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, believes Fury’s size will work against him if Wilder sticks to their game plan.
“God gifted Fury with a lot of body – for Deontay Wilder to bash up on,” added Scott, who sparred with Fury briefly in 2012.
Of fact, a heavyweight’s bulk does not ensure victory. Otherwise, Nikolai Valuev, who is 7 feet tall, and Julius Long, who stands 7 feet tall, would be considered among the all-time greats. Outlier size, on the other hand, offers a dimension to a talented, flexible fighter like Fury that he believes his opponents can’t handle.
Last week, Fury told reporters, “I’m establishing a milestone here.” “I’m two hundred and seventy-plus pounds and six-foot-nine inches tall. If you can, please stop me. “Coming towards you like a steamroller.”

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury have both said that they will win via knockout. They can’t both be correct at the same time.
Fury used the cautious, counterpunching approach that helped him win a world championship in their first fight, but the hard-hitting Wilder still clipped him. In the 12th round, a powerful right hand and left hook felled Fury, earning Wilder enough points to secure a draw in a fight he was trailing on the scorecards.
Fury vowed aggressiveness before the rematch, and Wilder’s one-punch power couldn’t keep him from withering under Fury’s pressure.
This time, Scott argues Wilder can’t rely on strength over other strategies.
“I’ve seen a man have a toolbox and just use one tool for the last 10, 12 years,” Scott remarked. “That toolbox has at least 100 tools in it, and he would only use one or two of them in a battle.” We need to go inside this toolbox and drill everything since it’s been sitting for a long time and has accumulated dust. That’s exactly what we did. We began at the bottom and worked our way up.”
Wilder claims that one training session did not transform him from a power puncher to a chess player. Rather, he claims that Scott has reawakened the dormant boxer inside him. He claims he’ll change up his strategy, but he’ll still go for a show-stopping finale.
“People speak about talents when they don’t have the power,” Wilder added. “But every fighter would love to have power because we don’t get paid for overtime.” “Showing a couple of talents is fine and great, but at the end of the day or night, particularly with heavyweights, they come to watch the knockout.”
Tyson Fury is likely to follow a similar strategy.
Fury claims that the shift in his fighting style occurred during the training camp leading up to his second bout with Deontay Wilder, when his trainer, Javan Hill (nicknamed Sugar), rebuilt him in the pattern of the boxer-punchers Hill had taught at Detroit’s fabled Kronk Gym.
“I went from a slick-boxing counterpuncher to an aggressive knockout puncher in six weeks,” Fury claimed.
Occasionally, Fury claims that the new game plan came to him when he awoke from a knockdown in the last round of the first Wilder bout. Fury spent the second part of the round pushing forward, effectively neutralizing Wilder’s attack. In the rematch, he used the same approach and won by technical knockout in the seventh round.
Fury, on the other hand, has said that his tactics would not alter before the bout. He intends to throw punches at Wilder in order to compel the former champion to deal with the situation.
“I’m going to attack with all guns blazing,” Fury remarked. “From Round 1, all infantry, right out the door.”
