The Las Vegas Raiders have lost two key stalwarts of the organization in recent weeks: President Marc Badain and running backs coach Kirby Wilson. They have added to their coaching team, despite the fact that they have yet to locate permanent replacements for those two individuals. According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the club will hire Damon Allen, a former quarterback in the Canadian Football League, as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship program this offseason.

Allen is famous for being the younger brother of Raiders great and Hall of Famer Marcus Allen. He was one of the greatest CFL quarterbacks ever, despite not getting a chance in the NFL. Allen won four titles and was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2012. Due to his familial connections, he should be extremely acquainted with the Raiders organization. He’ll be a unique addition to the coaching staff.

The Raiders are closing in on the start of training camp.
On July 27, the Raiders will begin their training camp. For the team, it will be a crucial training camp. Each of the past four seasons, Las Vegas has missed the playoffs. Since taking over as the team’s head coach three seasons ago, Jon Gruden has failed to win a game. He now has a lengthy leash, but another lost season may reduce it.
Due to COVID-19, the offseason was unusual last year. For the Raiders, everything should return to normal, which should benefit the young players. Last year’s rookies made virtually little impact to the squad. The fact that they didn’t have much of an offseason to work with most certainly contributed to this. This season, the Raiders should be in a much better position. The team is being counted out early, but they may turn out to be a surprise.
The Raiders have been named as an underappreciated team heading into 2024.
Nobody is going to believe in the Raiders until they go over the hurdle. They’ve let us down way too many times in the past. Since 2002, they’ve only made the playoffs once. Until they reach the playoffs, they will continue to be ignored. This year, though, they may finally break out of their mediocrity. The Raiders, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Roling, are one of the five most underappreciated teams in the NFL right now:
What’s the good news? Carr is a reliable, high-upside quarterback, Ruggs should improve, Kenyan Drake and Josh Jacobs will help the run game, and first-round pick Alex Leatherwood will help the offensive line. Yannick Ngakoue, Solomon Thomas, and Casey Hayward Jr. were added to the defense. Ngakoue is noteworthy because he will make things easier for Maxx Crosby (seven sacks last season) and Clelin Ferrell, the 2019 fourth-overall selection. Trevon Moehrig, a second-round rookie, will also contribute to the secondary.
When you add in the weight of expectations on a staff that should have learned a lot in three seasons, the combination may catch people who aren’t paying attention to the Raiders off surprise.
